Eco Council Reps 2017
Eco Council is a team of elected children from across the school. Our aim is to maintain and improve our school environment as well as become more knowledgeable about the environment outside of our school. We hope to continue our ethos on sustainability by ensuring that all members of the school community are equipped with knowledge and procedures on how to reduce waste and lower energy consumption. Mrs. Willcox is the grown up who is working with us to achieve a more sustainable, environmentally friendly community within school.
Eco Council meet once a fortnight to share the children of Whittington Primary School's views, values and opinions.
The 21st of September saw our first meeting of the school year, where the new class plants were named and delivered. Boris the dracaena now resides in the school office, whereas Eric the african violet has a new home with year 6.
We undertook our first school and community litter pick, which saw a whole bag of rubbish collected from just outside the school gates!
Over the next month we want to plant tulips and crocuses around the school site ready for the spring, along with some colourful bee-loving plants in containers.
We will keep you updated with news and events as they happen.
